Patricia Jean Orefice, 63, of New Haven, died peacefully Aug. 25 at her favorite summer cottage in Branford. She was surrounded by family and friends.

As an emergency room nurse at St. Raphael’s Hospital for more than 30 years, she cared for thousands, and her tireless dedication was an inspiration to many. She will be missed, especially for her chocolate chip cookies. Pat was also a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons Joe Orefice of Weston and Michael Orefice of Canton, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, Sydney, Sadie, Jonathon, Emily, and Jack; and two brothers, Paul Harris of Vermont and Michael Harris of Massachusetts. She was precedeceased by her sister Virginia “Ginger” Landry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Aug. 29 in St. George Church, Guilford. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT. 06405.
