Geneva W. Evans, 89, of Madison, loving wife of the late Wilbur B. Evans, died Aug. 28 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1923 to the late Friedrich and Emma (Crome) Lauterbach on her family farm near Breman, Kansas.

Geneva and her husband lived in many different states before making their permanent residence in Madison more than 38 years ago. She was a member of the Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford, and an avid gardener who won several first class ribbons at the Durham Fair over the years. She was a wonderful baker and a loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.           

Geneva is survived by her children Donald Evans and his wife Denise of Herndon,Virginia, Karen Finkel and her husband William of Fairfax Station, Virginia and Robert Evans and his wife Katherine of Guilford; her grandchildren Jeremy, Breyn, Emily and Dylan; and one great- granddaughter, Lorelei. She is also survived by her sister DeLora Drinkgern of Breman, Kansas.
