Rosemarie Guida Nuzzo, 83, of New Haven, wife of 60 years to the late Frederick Francis Nuzzo, died peacefully Sept. 12 at her home surrounded by family. Rosemarie was born April 14, 1930 in Altuna, Pennsylvania to the late Anthony and Mary Volpe Guida.

Rosemarie and her late husband were the former owner and operators of Grand Apizza in New Haven. She was a former member of the Hamden Italian American Club Ladies Auxillary and enjoyed knitting and costume making.

She is survived by her sons David Nuzzo, Frederick “Ricky” Nuzzo and his wife Ann, and Michael Nuzzo and his wife Migdalia; her daughter Marianne and her husband Luis Rivadeneira; and her grandchildren Jennifer, Aimee and her husband Michael Yedziniak, Leiah, Erica, Ashley, Michael, Brittany and Christopher. She was predeceased by her sisters Shirley and Nancy Lomonaco.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, on Monday, Sept. 16 at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday, Sept. 15 from 3 - 7 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN  38105.
