Michael L. Casher Sr., 80, of North Haven, husband of Edwina Sullivan Casher, died Oct. 1 at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. He was born Jan. 14, 1933 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Theresa Steinbender Casher.

Michael served his country faithfully and spent three years in Korea with the Army National Guard. He worked for 30 years as a shop manager for the former Premier Industries in West Haven until his retirement, and he was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 40.

He is survived by his son Michael L. Casher, Jr.; his brother Patrick and his wife Sandra Casher; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Casher; and a brother, Joseph Casher.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Oct. 3 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in St. Frances Church, New Haven, at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery.
