    William P. Wynne, 78, Branford

    William P. Wynne, 78, of Branford, husband of Mary Royka Wynne, died Sept. 30 at Connecticut Hospice. Mr. Wynne was born Jan. 22, 1935 in New Haven to the late Barney and Lillian Wynne.

    He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He worked for the New Haven Terminal as a mechanic, and later a foreman, for many years until his retirement in 2004. Mr. Wynne was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 10186 in Branford, and American Legion Post 83 in Branford.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children William Wynne and his wife Rosemarie of Dekalb Junction, New York, Michele and her husband Chris MacKinnel, and Tina and her husband Butch Burne of Branford; his grandchildren Andrew, Brandon, and Anthony Wynne, Brian and Christopher MacKinnel, and Thomas and Katie Burne; his great-grandchildren Charles, Brian Cody, and Andrew, Jr.; and his sisters Patricia Call of Branford and Carol Longley of East Haven. He was predeceased by his brothers Barney, Eddie, Tommy and Jackie Wynne; and two sisters, Barbara Foote and Janet Wynne.

    Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Oct. 3 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and are invited to a funeral service Friday, Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Center Cemetery, Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. The W.S.
