    Allen C. Clark, 65, Old Saybrook

    Allen C. Clark, 65, of Old Saybrook, died suddenly Sept. 18 at Middlesex Hospital. Al was born in Middletown to the late Robert W. and Maryann (Fladrich) Clark. He grew up in Old Saybrook and graduated from Old Saybrook High School in 1966.

    He was a proud Vietnam veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, he ran his family business, Riverview Kennels in Old Saybrook, for ten years. He then worked as a self-employed carpenter who specialized in colonial restoration, a career from which he retired six years ago.

    Allen was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was an avid boater and lighthouse enthusiast.

    He is lovingly survived by his children Andrew P. Clark of Essex, Stephanie A. Clark-Jones of Essex, Amanda M. Clark of Norwich, and Lisa Hird of England; his brother Robert Clark of New York; and nine grandchildren, Alexandra, Ashley, Cassidy, Josephine, Jason, Madison, Maryn, Maxwell and Amarra. Allen is also survived by his companion Pam Trumble of Old Saybrook and his former wife Dana Clark of Waterford. In addition to his parents, Allen was predeceased by his daughter Laura Debish; his brother Bruce Clark; and his sister Doris Seterus.

    Visiting hours were held Sept. 22 at Robinson,Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, Centerbrook. Private graveside services were held at Cypress Cemetery, Old Saybrook. The Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, Centerbrook, was in charge of arrangements. To share a memory of Allen visit rwwfh.com.
