Eleanor Pauline Smith, 82, of East Haven, wife of the devoted late John E. Smith, died Oct. 30. Eleanor was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who cherished her family.

She is survived by four loving and faithful sons, James E. Smith, Paul T. Smith, John R. Smith, and Thomas W. Smith, and their wives; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul F. Steir; and her family of “the South.”

Family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 2 at 11:45 a.m. at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven, until service at 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery.
