    Carole Kreutler-Provenzano, 70, Guilford

    Carole Kreutler-Provenzano, 70, of Guilford, beloved wife of Louis Provenzano, died peacefully Oct. 31 at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven. She was born Dec. 12, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey to the late John and Martha McReedy Gardner. Carole grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey, and graduated from Columbia High School. She began her working career at Western Electric.

    The Kreutler family moved to Connecticut in 1983, and Carole became involved with several groups including the Newcomers Club, Mother of Twins Club, the Guilford Garden Club, and the United States Tennis Association. She was a communicant of St. George Church in Guilford, and was also a longtime member of the Guilford Racquet and Swim Club, where she worked for many years before recently retiring in January 2013.

    In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Kevin Kreutler, Michael Kreutler, Robert Kreutler, and Steven Kreutler; a brother, Jack Gardner of Pennsylvania; and Marsha Nauta of South Carolina. She was predeceased by her first husband Kenneth J. Kreutler; and a son, Keith Matthew Kreutler. 

    A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, followed by burial in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston St, Guilford. Friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 5 -8 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Memorial contributions in Carole’s memory may be made to Smilow Cancer Center, P.O.
