    Anna Mae (Moran) Martorelli, 84, Chester

    Anna Mae Martorelli, 84, of Chester, beloved wife of the late Alfonso Martorelli, died Oct. 23 at Essex Meadows surrounded by her children. She was born Nov. 4, 1928 in Chester to Edward Moran and Elizabeth (Forde) Moran. Anna Mae was a lifelong resident of Chester, and best known by family and friends as a kind, loving, giving and wonderful person. Her most important contribution to the world was being such a great mother and grandmother. She was a living example of kindness and love.

    The family thanks Dr. Louise Maloney and the nurses and staff at TriTown Family Practice for the loving dedication provided to Anna Mae and her family for many years. They also express their deep gratitude to the caring nurses and staff at Essex Meadows during her final days.

    Anna Mae is survived by three sons, Edward Martorelli and his wife Amy Knaggs of Chester, David Martorelli and his wife Kristie of Surprise, Arizona, and John Martorelli and his wife Katie of Chester; two daughters, Beth Abbey and her husband Jay of Middletown and Joan Aresco and her husband Joe of Chester; two sisters, Katherine Foley of Cromwell and Margret O’Neal of Deep River; grandchildren Jill Abbey of Middletown, Lukas Martorelli of Surprise, Arizona, and Ava Martorelli of Chester; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas Moran, Edward Moran, and James Moran; and one sister, Elizabeth Vuono.

    Funeral services were held Oct. 29 at The Swan Funeral Home, Old Saybrook, burial was held privately. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Chester Hose Company, P.O. Box 214, Chester, Connecticut 06412. The Swan Funeral Home, Old Saybrook, was in charge of arrangements.
