    Walter A. Simpson, 79, Branford

    Walter A. Simpson, 79, of Branford, husband of the late Jane White Simpson, died Nov. 9 at his home. Mr. Simpson was born Aug. 6, 1934 in New Haven to the late Thomas B. and Devina Brown Simpson. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. 

    Walter worked as a pipe fitter for the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Haven for many years before his retirement. He was an avid fisherman, and a member of the Indian Neck Yacht Club. He also belonged to the Branford Elks Club, American Legion Post 83, and the Moose Lodge in Punta Gorda, Florida. 

    He is survived by his daughter Sinead and her husband Michael Boccamaiello of Branford; his grandchildren Amanda, Michael and Maeve; and his great-granddaughter Bianca. He was predeceased by two brothers, David and Ronald Simpson.

    Friends are invited to a memorial service on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, and may call prior to the funeral from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
