Adolphina Marie “Taffie” Santa Barbara, 92, of Branford, wife of the late Anthony Santa Barbara, died Nov. 28 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Marie was born April 17, 1921 in New Haven to the late Leonardo and Frances Castando Apuzzo.

She worked for St. Mary Church in Branford for 42 years, where she also taught CCD and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a communicant of St. George’s Church in Guilford.

She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Santa Barbara of Branford and Carol Ann Dill and her husband Dr. Edward Dill of Guilford; son Robert Santa Barbara and his wife Rita of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren Christopher Dill and his wife Aimee, Edward Dill III and his wife Julie, and Ann Marie Allaire and her husband Robert; and great-grandchildren Hannah and Rebecca Dill, Brayden Dill, and Neiko Allaire. She was predeceased by a son, Donald Santa Barbara; her brothers David Apuzzo, Settilo Apuzzo, and William Apuzzo; and her sisters Mary DeSorbo, Denora Apuzzo, and Roseann Beraduce.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Dec. 2 at St. George’s Church in Guilford. Burial was private. There were no calling hours.
