    Ivor T. Blowers, 92, Florida, formerly of Branford

    Ivor T. Blowers, of Florida, formerly of Branford, died Jan. 1, 2014 in Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, Florida. He was the husband of the late Barbara “Betty” Blowers. Mr. Blowers was born April 1, 1921 in Saratoga Springs, New York, son of the late Ivor T. and Emma Helwig Blowers.

    He served in the United States Army Air Corps in World War II and the Korean War. He was the owner of Ivor’s Sales and Service in East Haven for many years, and also worked for United Nuclear Corporation in Uncasville before retiring in 1984 and moving to Florida. He was a former member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford.

    Mr. Blowers is survived by his children Alvin (Darla) Blowers of Oxford, Douglas (Dorothy) Blowers of Conway, Massachusetts, Barbara (Tom) Smith of Clinton, and Kathy Gargone of Morehead City, North Carolina; his seven grandchildren, John, Arieh, and Danae Blowers, Wesley and Kevin Smith, and Tyler and Alyssa Gargone; and three great-grandchildren, Jadin, Riley, and Kylan.

    Friends are invited to a graveside service Saturday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at Center Cemetery, Branford. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford, is in charge of arrangements. See online memorial at
