Robert Kenneth Woodward of Ellenton, Florida, formerly of North Branford, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19. Born in Albany and raised in Clarksville, New York, Bob was the son of the late Kenneth and Dorothy Woodward. He enjoyed a long career as a purchasing agent for Western Electric and Southern New England Telephone Company.

A former volunteer firefighter and Elks Club member, Bob’s favorite role was always his part time work as a police officer for the North Branford Police Department.

He is survived by his children Dr. Nancy (Dr. Ronald) Berk of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Roberta (Mark) Czarnecki of Guilford, and Tom (Maria) Woodward of North Branford; his sister Ann (Larry) Gepfert; companion Sandy Smerz; former wife Mary Lou Woodward; and grandsons Daniel and Hunter Berk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jim.
