Berkely Houston Grey, Jr., 86

Old Saybrook and Haddam

Berkely Houston Grey, Jr., 86, of Old Saybrook and Haddam, died on April 30. He was born to the late Berkely and Mary Grey on May 1, 1927, in Mt. Kisco, New York.

He graduated from Purdys High School in 1945. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran in World War II. Berkely ran the family store, Grey's Quality Market, in Purdys, New York, before starting a successful career as sales manager at Brewster Ford and Brady Stannard, in Brewster, New York. He won numerous awards for his sales accomplishments and dedication. He enjoyed boating, fishing, long drives, fixing things around the house, and spending time with his family.

Berkely is survived by his wife, Joyce, and two children, Suzanne Grey of Old Saybrook, and Randy Grey and wife Lori of San Francisco, California. He is also survived by his sister Olive Kelly of Yardley, Pennsylvania.

The memorial service was private with the family suggesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Berkely's name to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
