    Judith Ann (Edgecombe) Anderson, 80, Old Saybrook

    Judith Ann (Edgecombe) Anderson, 80, a lifelong resident of Old Saybrook, died at her home on May 28. She was the beloved wife for the past 56 years of Dr. Albert J. Anderson. Judy was born in New London, daughter of the late Raymond O. & Sally R. (Morehouse) Edgecombe.

    Judy was a 72-year member of the First Church of Christ Congregational, and a member of the Old Saybrook Women’s Club. She volunteered for Literacy Volunteers for more than 20 years, belonged to the Crafters sewing club at the Estuary, knitting baby blankets for countless babies, and could always be counted on for participating in the Memorial Day parade in town.

    In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by her children Laurie Aholt and her husband Michael of Duvall, Washington, and Peter D. Anderson and his wife Suzan of Old Saybrook; her brother David Edgecombe of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and her beloved grandchildren Jacob, Carl, and Sarah.

    Visitation was held on June 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook. A graveside service followed on June 2 at 10 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook.
