    Recreation: Youth hockey results

    Recent results from the Southeastern Connecticut Youth Hockey League:

    Nov. 7

    ■ The Seahawks Mite travel team beat the Whalers 6-3, getting off to a 2-0 lead in the first period behind goals from Devyn Jordan and Nate Hopkins and stretching it to 3-0 with a goal from Evan Tower in the second period. Hopkins finished with two goals and Kellen Beauton and Alex Ard had one goal each for the Seahawks. Timmy Flynn got the win in goal.

    Nov. 13

    ■ Pee Wee A defeated Northwestern Pee Wee B 8-2 in Norwich. Taylor Huta had four goals for the Seahawks and Will Vorra, Bryan Guetens, Brayden LoVetere and Brendan Schneider each had one. Brendan Allen added three assists. Ryan Cornelius made 13 saves in goal.

    ■ Squirt C lost to the Southern Connecticut Stars 6-1, getting its only goal from Shawn Conroy. Conroy, goalie Sam Pettersson and defenseman Christian Falck were the stars of the game for SEC.

    ■ Bantam A beat Avon Bantam A1 4-3 at Avon Old Farms, getting the game-winner from Tyler Faulkner with 38 seconds left in the third period. Faulkner was assisted by Zachary Jones and Dylan O’Leary. Justin Gagon, Ben Thompson and Kiefer Stroebel also scored for the Seahawks. Shaun LoVetere made 27 saves.

    ■ Squirt A defeated Ridgefield 8-2. Grayson Colvin and Latham Woodman had two goals each for the Seahawks and  Adam Shobe, Riley Jordan, Ryan Huta, and Kyle Cobletz had one each. Huta, Cobletz and Brendan Tew all had assists and  Max Tapia made eight saves in net.

    Nov. 14

    ■ Bantam A tied the Whalers Bantam A1 3-3 in Norwich, scoring all three goals in the first period. Drew Bradley scored the first goal unassisted. The second goal was scored by Dylan O’Leary, assisted by Logan Morin, before Bradley scored again assisted by Morin and O’Leary. Shaun LoVetere had 22 saves in goal.

    ■ Pee Wee A defeated Avon Pee Wee minor 5-1 in Norwich, getting two goals from Taylor Huta. Zachary Burnham, Will Vorra and Bryan Guetens also had goals for the Seahawks. Andrew Collins, Brendan Schneider, Burnham and Hunter Desaulnier led the defense, in addition to 37 saves from Ryan Cornelius.

    ■ Squirt A beat East Haven 5-3, coming back from a 3-0 deficit. Scoring for the Seahawks were Latham Woodman, Zach Bradley, Riley Jordan, Brendan Tew and Grayson Colvin. Ryan Huta had two assists for the Seahawks and Max Tapia had seven saves in net.

    Nov. 20

    ■ Pee Wee A defeated Greater New Haven Pee Wee A2 7-2 in Norwich. Bryan Guetens, Taylor Huta and Will Vorra had two goals each and Brendan Allen one goal and two assists. Ben Amor had 12 saves and Justice Ford 10 for the Seahawks.

    ■ The Seahawks Midgets beat Greater Bridgeport Midget Blue 4-0. Tyler Malstrom and Kyle Toth were solid on defense, helping goalie Bailey Johns earn a shutout.

    ■ Matt Fabianski scored on a mass from Hanna Sherman in the third period to give Squirt C a 2-1 victory over the Whalers in Cromwell. Antonio Pisani tied the the game for the Seahawks, scoring on a breakaway in the second period. Goalie Jean-Luc Boldc, Fabianski, Quenten Dean ans Sherman were named the Seahawks stars of the game.

    ■ The Mite Travel team trailed 3-0 after one period and lost to Avon 8-2. Nate Hopkins had a goal and an assist and Evan Tower added a goal for the Seahawks.

    ■ Bantam A lost 7-0 to Greater New Haven, with goalie Shawn LoVetere making 34 saves.

    Nov. 21

    ■ Kyle Marino had three goals and two assists and the SEC Mite Travel team beat Echo 8-1. Alex Ard added two goals and Nick LeClaire, Evan Tower and Devyn Jordan added goals for the Seahawks.

    ■ Pee Wee A lost to Avon 6-1, getting a goal from Kevin Close.

    ■ Bantam A tied the Central Connecticut Capitals Bantam A1, 2-2, getting a goal by Drew Bradley assisted by Ben Thompson with 33 seconds remaining. The first goal was scored by Justin Gagnon in the first period, unassisted.  Shawn LoVetere had 24 saves.

    ■ Squirt C beat the Whalers Squirt B1 team to 5-3, with Sydney Ogden and Christian Falck each scoring their first goals as Squirts. Quenten Dean, Antonio Pisani and Anna Fennell added goals for the Seahawks and goalie Hanna Sherman made 19 saves. Odgen, Falck and Sherman were named the Seahawks three stars of the game.

    Nov. 26

    ■ Ben Thompson had a goal and two assists as Bantam A beat Simsbury Bantam B 6-2. Justin Gagnon, Alexander Hawley, Jarrett Hebert, Zachary Jones and Kiefer Stroebel also had goals and Andrew Leardi added a pair of assists.

    ■ Ben Thompson scored the game’s only goal in the second period as Bantam A defeated Greater New Haven Bantam A1 1-0.

    Nov. 27

    ■ Zachary Jones had a goal and an assist as Bantam A tied Avon Bantam A1 2-2. Alexander Hawley also scored for the Seahawks.

    Nov. 28

    ■ Bantam A won its division at the 16th Annual ACFYHA Thanksgiving Holiday Tournament, beating Avon Bantam A1 3-1. The first and only Avon goal was scored just eight seconds into the game, but Kiefer Stroebel, Ben Thompson and Justin Gagnon launched a Seahawks’ comeback, each scoring goals. Alexander Hawley and Andrew Leardi added assists.

    Dec. 4

    ■ Bantam A beat Ridgefield Bantam A1 in Norwich, 3-0.  Tyler Faulkner scored the first goal in the first period assisted by Zachary Jones. Logan Morin scored unassisted in the second period. Jones scored the final goal of the game assisted by Ben Thompson and Dylan O’Leary. The Seahawks had 24 shots on Ridgefield. Shawn LoVetere had a shutout in goal with 16 saves.

    ■ Squirt C lost to Watertown Squirt B 5-2. The game was tied after two periods with Seahawk goals from Quenten Dean and Matt Fabianski. Jean-Luc Bolduc faced 19 shots. Matt Fabianski, Antonio Pisani and Sydney Ogden were named the Seahawks’ three stars of the game.

    Dec. 5

    ■ Bantam A tied Western Bantam B 2-2. Ben Thompson scored in the first period assisted by Zachary Jones and Logan Morin scored the tying goal in the third period with 2:46 remaining.

    ■ The Seahawks Midget team defeated the Whalers 7-6 in Cromwell, getting a game-winning breakaway in the third period from Ted Gudis. The Whalers led by as many as two goals in the second period, but the Seahawks scored three times in the final four minutes of the period to take a 6-5 edge. Nick Santamaria scored twice in the second period. Baylee Johns made two late saves in goal to preserve the victory, one a save off his pads in the final 10 seconds.

    ■ Squirt C lost to Greater New Haven Squirt B 5-2, getting two goals from Shawn Conroy. Anna Fennell, Samuel Pettersson and Hannah Sherman, who faced 24 shots in goal, were named the Seahawks’ three stars of the game.

    Dec. 11

    ■ Pee Wee A defeated Northeastern Pee Wee B 3-2 at UConn. Hunter Desaulnier, Bryan Guetens and Brendan Schneider each had goals for the Seahawks and goalies Justice Ford and Ben Amor combined for 17 saves in the victory.

    ■ Squirt C lost to Southeast Squirt B 8-3. Jean-Luc Bolduc and Anna Fennell scored in the first period as the Seahawks took a 2-0 lead, but Southeast scored four unanswered goals in the second period. Christian Falck added a goal for the Seahawks on a pass from Anna Fennell.

    Dec. 12

    ■ Pee Wee A tied the Wonderland Wizards Pee Wee B team 2-2. Andrew Collins scored on an assist by Kevin Close in the second period and Close scored on a shot to the corner in the third period, assisted by Taylor Huta and Will Vorra. The goalies had a total of 15 saves.

    ■ Bantam A lost to Hamden Bantam A 6-1 in Norwich. Ben Thompson scored the Seahawks’ only goal, assisted by Kiefer Stroebel. Shawn LoVetere made 14 saves.

    ■ Antonio Pisani had a hand in every goal with three goals and an assist as Squirt C defeated Central Squirt 4-3 in Newington. Samuel Pettersson also scored for the Seahawks. Pisani scored the game-winner with less than two minutes remaining in the game and Jean-Luc Bolduc made some key third-period saves to preserve the win.
