    Police arrest two men after reported burglary

    Plainfield- Police arrested two men Monday who were discovered in a resident's home.Police were called to a burglary at 6 Pond Hill Road, Moosup, just before 1 p.m. The homeowner told police that he had interrupted the two men apparently attempting to rob his house. He said the men fled toward Snake Meadow Road.

Officers were searching for the men, including in the area of an abandoned house when one officer heard what he believed was people walking through the woods behind the house, police said.

Each was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny and possession of burglary tools.

    Seth St. Amour, 18, of 62 Jackson Road, Plainfield, and Travis Menders, 20, of 6 Ralph St., Moosup, were both taken into custody. Each was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny and possession of burglary tools.
