New London – Police this morning identified the overnight stabbing victim as Becky Reyes, 32, of New London, but said few details about the incident have been learned.

Police said Reyes suffered a stab wound to her back in an overnight incident. She was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital where she is in stable condition, police said.

Police said they are unsure exactly where the incident occurred, but it possibly occurred on Connecticut Avenue near West Coit Street. Reyes apparently walked around for a while before calling a cab to be taken to the hospital. Police said she was intoxicated at the time and was uncooperative with hospital staff and police.
