New London — Police arrested this morning two New London brothers in connection with a Sept. 22 stabbing at a motorcycle club that left a local man with life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested Robert Marin, 22, and Donte Marin, 21, both of 40 Crystal Ave., New London, and charged them each with first-degree assault and breach of peace. They turned themselves in after speaking with a detective about the case.

Police have already arrested Juan Baptista-Roman and his brother, Jose Roman and charged them with first-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon.

The early morning brawl at 130 Bank St. sent Anthony Swift, 26, of New London to Yale-New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries from the stabbing. Others injured in the fight were Henry Albino, 31, of New London, who suffered cuts to the ear and neck; Miguel Albino, 33, of New London, who may have broken his leg as he fled the fight; and Jairo Perez, 28, of Guilford, who sustained injuries to the face and head when he was hit with a large wooden object.

The injured men, in interviews with police, reported having been inside the motorcycle club hangout when a large fight broke out and spilled into the building's parking lot on South Water Street.

City officials have shut down the clubhouse because it did not have the proper permit to operate a members-only club in the downtown business district.

The Marin brothers will be arraigned today in New London Superior Court.
