Norwich schools placed on 30-minute lockdown

Norwich – The John B. Stanton Elementary School and Teachers Memorial Middle School were placed on lockdown for about 30 minutes Friday afternoon after a motorcyclist who was stopped by police fled into the woods.
The lockdown was precautionary, Norwich police said. It began at about 2:30 p.m. and was discontinued at about 3 p.m.
As of 4:15 p.m., police were still searching for the suspect and did not know his identity.
