UPDATED: State police arrest 57 people for drunken driving during holiday weekend

Connecticut State Police have arrested 57 people for drunken driving during the Memorial Day weekend, according to Lt. J. Paul Vance.
During the enforcement period, which ended Monday night, state police had issued 1,941 speeding tickets, 718 seat belt violations and 4,294 hazardous moving violations.
Police also responded to 281 accidents, 59 of which had reported injuries. Two accidents, one in West Hartford and the other in North Stonington, reported fatal injuries.
