Waterford — A motor vehicle crash early this morning closed Chapman Avenue for nearly 12 hours.

The crash occurred at about 2 a.m. and involved a car that had struck and snapped a utility pole before rolling onto its roof. Power was out temporarily for a handful of Connecticut Light & Power customers as line crews worked to repair the damaged pole.

One person was taken to the hospital. Information on that person's injuries was not available.
