Groton, New London police release seat belt enforcement numbers

New London and Town of Groton police departments on Wednesday released the number of tickets handed out during the two-week-long "Click It Or Ticket" enforcement campaign.

Town of Groton police issued 81 seat belt citations and 31 distracted driving citations. New London police issued 64 seat belt tickets, four child restraint citations and 185 citations for other traffic violations.

Both departments reminded motorists to buckle up and that enforcement continues year round.
