North Stonington man charged with sexual assault of minor

North Stonington - A North Stonington man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant that alleges he sexually assaulted a minor.

Allan Smith, 21, of 16 Farm Pond Road, was charged with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

State police said they began their investigation in March for a report of a sexual assault that was reported in North Stonington.

Smith was held on a $200,000 bond, pending his arraignment Tuesday in New London Superior Court.
