Boy taken to hospital following Friday night scooter crash
New London – A boy was taken to the hospital Friday night after crashing a motorized scooter into a utility pole off Crystal Avenue.
Police, fire and emergency medical responders were called to the area of the apartment complex at 46 Crystal Ave. at 8:47 p.m. for reports that the driver of the scooter was on the ground and unconscious.
Witnesses at the scene, however, said the unidentified operator of the scooter was talking while he was being taken away by ambulance to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. Police at the scene surveyed the damage to the scooter, which lay on its side near the base of a utility pole.
No further information was immediately available.
