Route 1 in Groton reopened following water main break repair

Groton — Poquonnock Road (Route 1) between South and Buddington roads was reopened tonight after crews completed the repair of a water main break, Groton Town police said.

The main, which broke on Wedneday, had been installed about 80 years ago. Traffic had been detoured around the site today while work was being done.
