Police arrest two in connection with Ledyard burglaries

Ledyard — Two people were arrested Friday in connection with a recent spate of burglaries that occurred in area homes in late September.

Police said that Justyn Sheline, 26, who is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges, was arrested today in New London Superior Court and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two-counts of second-degree larceny and third-degree larceny.

Police allege that Sheline is responsible for burglaries that occurred at homes on Parkwood Drive and Friar Tuck Drive. He was also charged with stealing from a relative’s home.

Police also arrested Dylan S. Rushing, 20, of no certain address, in Groton and charged her with third-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny. Police said she pawned items stolen in the Friar Tuck Drive burglary and also assisted Sheline from stealing from his relatives.

Both Sheline and Rushing were expected to be arraigned today in New London Superior Court.
