Waterford — Police say two New Jersey men were duped into handing over $6,200 in cash for what they thought were eight 65-inch 3D televisions that were overstocked at the Sears at Crystal Mall.

Police said one of the men handed over an envelope of cash to a woman who gave him a receipt, went back into Sears to supposedly get the TVs and never returned.

The incident occurred Tuesday after police said the New Jersey men received a call from a "UPS driver named Jimmy," who told them to go to Waterford and call "George" when they got there. Police said one of the suspects in the scam is described as a white, blond female, 5 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build. Police said she was wearing tan pants and a blue shirt, similar to what Sears employees wear.

Store surveillance obtained photographs of the suspect, which were posted on the Waterford police Facebook page.
