Westerly – A narcotic-related police investigation culminated Tuesday with the seizure of marijuana, marijuana plants and heroin from a Miner Street home.

Westerly police detectives joined with patrol officers to execute a search warrant at 8 Miner St. Officers there seized more than 4 grams of heroin, 28 ounces of marijuana, 42 marijuana plants and several thousand dollars in cash, police said.

Police arrested Justin M. Varas, 28, of Westerly, and Adam N. Cheli, 26, of California.

Varas was charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver and cultivation of marijuana. Cheli was charged with possession of heroin.

Both were remanded to an adult correctional institute pending formal arraignment in court.
