New London – A portion of Bank Street that had been shut down during a fire investigation has reopened.
Traffic was diverted off Bank Street onto Pearl Street for about 40 minutes while firefighters investigated smoke coming from a building at 133 Bank St. Firefighters were on the roof and inside the former Jason’s Furniture.
Fire Chief Henry Kydd said the department was investigating a possible furnace problem in the building.
