Norwich – Police are responding to a downed utility pole on New London Turnpike near Three Rivers Community College, but the turnpike remains open for traffic, police said.

The utility company is also on scene, according to police.

According to Norwich Public Utilities, a car hit the pole. Two homes are without power but it should be restored by 10:00 a.m.
