Montville boy in critical condition after being struck by truck

Montville — A 12-year-old local boy was in critical condition Sunday after being hit by a truck the day before on Route 163.
Joseph Kolashuk, of 1412 Raymond Hill Road, was riding his bicycle in the driveway of another house on the street when he traveled out of the driveway onto Route 163 at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, according to police.
A Dodge Ram 3500 driven by Kyle Hatch, 27, of Uncasville, hit Kolashuk on the left side, state police said.
An investigation is ongoing, police said Sunday.
A spokesperson at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford said Kolashuk was in critical condition.
