Waterford — The 5-year-old child who died outside a Quaker Hill home Thursday was last seen about two hours before his mother called 911, police said Friday.

Police did not identify the child in their latest news release, although they did confirm his last name was Bosselman. Records show Christopher Bosselman owns the 3 Maple Ave. home where the incident took place.

In the release, police said the boy was last seen in his home about 12:30 p.m. His mother called 911 at 2:28 p.m.

Two responding officers first searched the home, then the yard and the driveway. They located the boy, unresponsive in a family vehicle, 19 minutes after arriving.

The officers pulled the boy from the vehicle and began CPR. EMTs, firefighters and medics also attempted resuscitation to no avail.

Police said the mother was home when the child went missing. The police department has reported the incident to the state Department of Children and Families.

The boy had two siblings, police said. They said neither was involved in the incident.

The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy Friday to determine the boy’s death. Its results weren't immediately available.
