Man charged with assault, stealing elderly man's car in New London in June

New London — Police arrested a Brookfield man on Wednesday who they say assaulted an elderly man in the parking lot of a New London Walgreens store in June and stole his car.
Jason Natale, 38, faces charges of first-degree robbery, third-degree assault of an elderly person, third-degree larceny, second-degree threatening and second-degree reckless endangerment in connection with the June 4 incident outside the Walgreens at 698 Bank St.
The assault left the man with a laceration on his head that required treatment at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, police said in a news release. At the time, police said the assailant had stolen the car, a red 2001 Mercury Sable with New Mexico plates, about 3 p.m.
Natale was arrested on a warrant and held on a $150,000 bond. He also was charged with violation of probation on a warrant.
