    Elderly man injured when man steals his car in New London

    New London -- Police are investigating the robbery of an elderly man, who suffered a head laceration when his car was stolen Monday afternoon at the Walgreen’s Pharmacy on Bank Street.

    Police said that at approximately 3:11 pm, they responded to the pharmacy parking lot for the report of an elderly man who had been assaulted and robbed. Police found the man, who appeared to be bleeding from his head. Police said it was determined the man had been injured by an unknown man during a strongarm robbery of his car, a red 2001 Mercury Sable with New Mexico registration 639-MMY.

    The suspect is described as white, in his 30s or 40s, approx. 6 feet tall, large build, wearing gray shorts and a dark colored hoodie, and a baseball cap.

    The victim was transported to L+M Hospital. Police said his injuries did not appear to be life threatening at time of incident.
