Norwich — Fire marshals are investigating a small blaze that began in a vacant apartment at 96 Washington St. late Friday, Battalion Chief Keith Wucik said in a news release.
Wucik said a resident reported smoke in the 2½-story apartment building about 11:50 p.m. Firefighters found the blaze in a room toward the rear of the first floor and quickly extinguished it.
Only that room was damaged, Wucik said.
No further information was immediately available.
