Officers hear shots fired, find shell casings in New London
New London — City police are trying to determine what happened after officers heard shots fired while on patrol early Wednesday morning.
A department news release states that officers heard three to five gunshots in the Blydenburg Avenue area about 12:23 a.m. Responding officers found spent casing in the area of Blydenburg Avenue and Robinson Street.
Police secured the area and established a perimeter. The investigation is ongoing.
In the news release, the department urged those who have information regarding the incident to call police at (860) 447-5269, ext. 0, or provide anonymous information via the New London Tips 411 system by texting NLPDTip plus the information to 847411.
