New London — Police said a man suffered two gunshot wounds to the upper arm in a shooting early Saturday in the parking lot of the H&T Mini Mart at 1 Ocean Ave.

Officers who were called to the scene at 3:59 a.m. for a report of shots fired secured the scene and established a perimeter. Police also went to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital when they learned that a man had arrived seeking medical care for gunshot wounds. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said in a news release.

Detectives collected evidence and conducted interviews at the scene.
