State police: One person dead in North Stonington crash

North Stonington — Connecticut State Police at Troop E in Montville confirmed that a person died Tuesday night due to a serious car accident in North Stonington.
State police declined to identify the deceased. The accident took place shortly after 9 p.m. Troop E described the accident as a car versus tree, resulting in a car fire, in front of a house at 9 Button Road.
Police are investigating the incident, which could be a monthslong process, according to Troop E. The exact cause of the accident is unclear at this time.
