East Lyme police make arrest in sexual assault investigation

Editor’s note: Mr. Fioletov pleaded no contest in New London Superior Court to second-degree reckless endangerment and on Aug. 17, 2022 was sentenced to six months in prison, fully suspended, with a two year conditional discharge. The other charges were not prosecuted.

East Lyme — Police said they have made an arrest following an investigation into a sexual assault involving a juvenile female victim in November 2020.

Police said they found that the accused, Kirill Fioletov, 20, of Glastonbury, allegedly had met the victim on Snapchat and at some point went to southeastern Connecticut to meet with her and a second juvenile victim.

While in his car, Fioletov allegedly gave alcohol to and engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim, while the second juvenile was in the car, police said.

Fioletov was charged with second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and illegal delivery of alcohol to a minor.

New London Superior Court issued an arrest warrant based on the investigation and he was arrested on Tuesday and held on a $30,000 court-set bond, according to the police report. He was released and has a court date of Aug. 23 in New London Superior Court.
