    Robbery reported at Preston gas station

    Preston — State Troopers from Troop E responded at 4:19 a.m. Tuesday to an armed robbery at the Best Way/Citgo gas station at 37 Norwich-Westerly Road, according to a news release.

    Police said that, based on the initial investigation, a male wearing a dark-colored jacket arrived on foot at 4:17 a.m. and walked into the store. He showed a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk.

    After about a minute, the suspect fled and was last seen running east on Norwich-Westerly Road, police said.
