Police said a Hebron woman, who engaged police in a pursuit Saturday after callers reported she was driving erratically, was located at a garage at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

Lori Lanagan, 47, was charged with interfering with police, following too closely, failure to use turn signal, driving without minimum insurance, driving with a suspended license, failure to drive in proper lane, reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, engaging police in pursuit, and failure to comply with fingerprint requirements.

At about 5:35 p.m. on Saturday, state police from the Troop K barracks in Colchester were notified by police at the Troop H barracks in Hartford of a Jeep Wrangler erratically operating on Route 2 eastbound, in the area of Exit 11 in Glastonbury, according to a news release. Police said they received several emergency calls about the Jeep, with callers describing it as a danger to drivers.

Police said a state trooper tried to stop a vehicle matching that description that was heading on Route 2 eastbound in the area of Exit 23 in Bozrah, but the Jeep did not stop. The trooper pursued the Jeep, continuing eastbound on Route 2 and onto Interstate 395 southbound in Norwich for about 5 miles, before stopping for safety reasons.

About 10 minutes later, Mohegan Tribal Police informed state police at Troop E in Montville that the vehicle’s registration was detected by a license plate reader at the Riverview Garage at Mohegan Sun, and troopers and state police located her, according to the release.

Police said when Lanagan was interacting with troopers, she “exhibited signs of possible impairment, was uncooperative throughout the investigation and physically resisted being taken into custody.” Soon after she went to Troop K for arrest processing, she requested medical help and was taken to Marlborough Medical Center.

At the hospital, “Lanagan refused to cooperate with troopers’ efforts to complete her arrest processing,” police said.

She was held in lieu of $100,000 bond and transferred to the Janet S. York Correctional Institution. Her arraignment was scheduled for Monday at Norwich Superior Court.
