State police investigating fatal collision in Griswold

State Police said they are investigating a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian that killed a 50-year-old woman on North Main Street, near Green Street in Jewett City, on Friday.

State Troopers from the Troop E barracks in Montville, the Eastern District Major Crime Squad and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad are investigating the collision that happened about 7:53 p.m. Friday, according to police. Main Street was closed for about four hours.

Police said they have identified a suspect vehicle and driver and anticipate making an arrest soon.

Police said any witnesses should call Trooper Brett at (860) 848-6540.
