    Police rescue dog that ran onto the Gold Star bridge

    Groton ― Town Police say that a white dog that ran onto the Gold Star Memorial Bridge Saturday was finally captured and is safe.

    In a Facebook post, Town Police said the dog eluded officers and animal control officers for several hours and made his way across the Gold Star Bridge.

    Police are now trying to locate the dog’s owners. They said the dog is not available for adoption at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the Groton Town Animal Control Officer at (860) 441-6709.
