Norwich — Residents of a single-family home at 74 Ox Hill Road in Taftville were displaced Saturday after a fire heavily damaged the house, said Taftville Deputy Chief Tom Jencks.

Jencks said there was heavy fire on the second floor of the home, and the four residents had safely left the home by the time firefighters arrived. He said there are no reported injuries.

The house is uninhabitable, and the American Red Cross is on scene helping the residents find a place to stay, he said.

The fire was reported at 5:12 p.m., Jencks said.

The Taftville, Yantic and Norwich fire departments responded, he said.

Jencks said the cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.
