Clinton Police Incident Report for July 19

The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content. Tuesday, July 19Senior correspondent Jason J. Marchi compiles the Police Incident Report.

    • A 28 year-old man and a 22 year-old man, both of Westbrook, were arrested shortly after 8 a.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree. The homeowner arrived at the site of complete work on the dwelling when he discovered the men in the midst of stealing metal from the residence. Both subjects were loading tools, aluminum, and other metals into a truck—items they could sell for scrap. The homeowner was able to get most of his belongings from the truck before the subjects drove away. The homeowner recorded the truck’s registration plate and called 911. The vehicle was pulled over a short time later and the thieves arrested.

    • A 41 year-old Hartford man was arrested at 11:23 a.m. on a warrant charging him with two counts of larceny in the sixth degree. In the same incident a 47 year-old Durham man was also charged on a warrant for larceny in the sixth degree.

    • A 17 year-old was arrested at 6:07 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident at Zumiez on Killingworth Turnpike.

    • A larceny was investigated on Ironworks Road by Corporal Craig Lee at 12:08 p.m.
