    Westbrook Police Incident Report for March 31 to April 2

    The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

    Sunday, March 31

    • A 25 year-old Essex man was arrested at 1:51 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and reckless driving.

    Monday, April 1

    • No arrests were made.

    • A 56 year-old man of Providence, Rhode Island was issued a citation at 5:37 a.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle accident. He was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash.

    • A 39 year-old Middletown man was issued a citation at 7:41 a.m. for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart after the 2011 Ford Crown Victoria he was operating struck the rear of a 2000 Chevy Malibu operated by a 31 year-old Old Saybrook woman. No injuries were reported at the scene.

    Tuesday, April 2

    • An 80 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 9:18 a.m. on a warrant charging him with reckless endangerment in the second degree and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

    • A 75 year-old Branford man was issued a written warning at 11:06 a.m. for traveling too fast for conditions and distracted driving after the 2008 Audi A6 he was operating struck the rear of a 2012 Honda Odyssey operated by a 47 year-old Old Saybrook woman. The Honda was, in turn, pushed into the rear of a 2012 Mercedes Benz C250 operated by a 44 year-old New London man.
