Ledyard — Police arrested a town woman Tuesday after they said she got into an argument with her mother and grandmother and struck one of them with her purse.

Police said they were called to an address they did not disclose about 5:25 p.m. to handle the altercation.

They arrested 22-year-old Nicole Marie Larosa and charged her with third-degree assault on an elderly person.

Under state statute, a person is considered elderly if they are at least 60 years old. Third-degree assault is a Class A misdemeanor.

Held on a $10,000 bond, Larosa was due Wednesday in New London Superior Court.
