Groton — Crews closed a lane of the Gold Star Memorial Bridge for about an hour Monday morning following a crash that happened just beyond Exit 86.

State Department of Transportation officials said the wreck on Interstate 95 south involved three cars and happened just before 8:30 a.m. Crews closed the right lane while they worked to clear the crash and reopened it by 9:30 a.m. 

Traffic quickly backed up in the area, where a couple left lanes already are closed for construction work.
