Ledyard — A Waterford man was charged with breach of peace after he was observed touching himself inappropriately in his vehicle in the Village Market parking lot, police said.

According to the police report, an employee of the market called police after spotting Ruberto Pasquale, 56, of 17 Woodland Drive masturbating around 2:11 p.m. on Tuesday. Pasquale told police that he was watching pornography videos on his cellphone and touching himself and didn't see anyone nearby.

He was released on a $500 bond and is slated to appear in New London Superior Court on Dec. 5, police said.
